Venice

Next on the trip... Venice. It was one of my favorite places. And we had a fabulous day in Venice. The weather was so nice... no rain!!!

Also, one of my cousins, Tina and her husband, Norman, live in Italy. They aren't too far from Venice, so they rode the train in and spent the day touring Venice with us! It was really fun... and now, next time I see them, I will remember meeting Norman! :)

The traveling crew...
Kyle, Shanna, Kristen and Adam on Rialto Bridge.
This bridge is one of the most famous in Venice... the whole bridge is lined with shops and it's crowded with people!

Piazza San Marco
We aren't sure if the rain or the tide was the cause, but St. Mark's Square was flooded! It was pretty crazy... everyone just took off their shoes and wadded through the nasty, pigeon water. It made for a great experience though. As the afternoon wore on, the water went away, and when we walked back after dinner, the water was all gone.

Picture with my cousins!

This is St. Mark's Basilica in the piazza. We went in and walked around and even went up the the balcony (it's just above the first level of arches... where the people are standing).

Another funny story... Adam thought it was hilarious when this time, Kristen got poo-ed on by the pigeon. Turns out... it was actually some dog poo she had stepped in, and when she took off her shoes to walk in the flooded square, she managed to rub it on her shirt and then her camera screen. But it did solve the mystery of why all day she kept saying, "Something smells like dog poo."
