today's randomness

There is this one drawer of the girls' clothes... the lock is broken and that means they sometimes drag out all of their winter clothes... and let's be honest, they are a little small now.

Certainly didn't stop them today. And these are the "outfits" they picked out... (and yes, it is August. In Texas.)
{Kyler & Kate}

Apparently Kyler figured out that it was a little warm for long sleeves and pants, and decided it would be best to just ditch the pants. And diaper.

Kyler's favorite trick...

BBQ Chicken Pizza with zucchini for dinner. YUM.

Two more thoughts for today...
1. Kate's favorite game is going in her room and "hiding". That means we get between the chair and her bed and lie down. She brings all her little friends... bubby, puppy, & 2 bears.

2. Kyler came in and played with us this morning, too. I told the girls I needed to go blow my nose. Kyler was hanging on my legs, not letting me go. Kate ran off to the kitchen and brought me the kitchen towel to blow my nose. Sweet little thing.

what we do...

EK in her car seat... always with the leg up and now hooking her toes on the handle. Classic EK move. Classic.

Notice the finger always in her mouth...

This toy KM has is one that she pulled off of the bouncer that EK is sitting in. They both LUV that chewy thing. Go figure.

A little update...

I have several updates to do, but until then, here's a list of what's going on around here...

1. I'm hot. All the time. Hotter than I've ever been. And not in a good way. In a "I've-got-two-fans-blowing-on-me-all-night-and-thats-not-even-close-to-helping-me-stay-coolish."

2. My feet are swollen. They don't even go down overnight anymore. And I had to buy some really ugly shoes for the weekends. Sad.

3. It is getting hard to move... bending over is close to something I used to be able to do. Getting out of bed and into my car are more challenging everyday.

4. We saw Josh and Kasey at lunch today... Josh decided he actually believes I am pregnant now and not just hungry all the time. HAHA.

5. Today was the day our house was supposed to be finished. Guess what? It's not. And it won't be until the end of next week. That's fine, but I'm going to break our A/C in good.

6. Since we are still technically homeless, posting has taken a back seat. I have tons of pictures on my camera, but haven't taken time to download to the super slow laptop.

7. KG just got home from Alaska yesterday. I was glad to see him. He got the girls a cute little gift...

8. Molly really likes watermelon. And celery. Weirdo.

9. My dad gets home from his YEAR in Korea tomorrow!!!! And since we aren't moving in this weekend, we get to go to Gville to spend the weekend with him. YAY.

10. Tomorrow KG and I are picking out the last things for the house... carpet, appliances, door knobs.

11. Tomorrow we are also driving to Austin for our "high level ultrasound." I'm trying to be only excited about seeing the babies again and not worried that they aren't okay.

12. As football season gets closer and closer (we are only 25 days away), I get a little more sad that I won't be there on game day... or at least, I won't be out there in the Fan Zone, in the stands, in the suite. It's been my life for the past 4 years and as crazy Aggie as it may sound, it's in my blood. I'm already sad to miss that game day atmosphere and excitement.

13. I'm tired.

14. I took Molly to the groomers on Monday. I wanted to get her trimmed up because she was looking pretty shaggy. They did a pretty good job... BUT... her yetti feet that KG and I loved are gone. Now she has skinny little legs and tiny little feet. And I feel like she walks weird now. Sad.

15. Molly also went to the vet last week and got 4 shots. And she weighed 13.4 pounds. Little chunker.

16. We are living with my aunt and uncle this week, as I did last week and looks like we will do next week unless they kick us out. In which case, I may be calling you.

17. I went to the local mothers of twins club meeting last week. And it was pretty great. A little scary, but mainly great. It was really fun to be around all these ladies who have already done what I'm about to do.

18. I've been overwhelmed by all the gifts that we have received for these two precious girls. They are most definitely loved. (And I need to get cracking on the thank you notes because I am extremely grateful.)

19. Molly has become increasingly whiny. Maybe she senses what is to come. She'll just lay on the bed and cry. I'm not sure what her deal is.

20. These babies are non-stop movers. It is pretty amazing. I've been trying to get KG to feel them, but he's a little impatient. This past weekend I was at my mom's and my sis got to feel them ALOT. They were moving so much and she got to feel several good kicks. And so did my mom. But I think my sis thought it was super cool (she, by the way, has been super helpful and fun with baby stuff already and I've seen her 2 weekends in a row... this next one will make THREE!).

21. I'm pretty sure I broke my sewing machine this past weekend. I'm not sure what to do about it and it is going to make finishing all of my nursery stuff difficult...

I'm still on vacation...

Ok.

Maybe not.

But I wish I was.

Instead
I'm trying to get back in the
swing of things.

Thankful #26

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I hope everyone had a most wonderful day. KG & I didn't get to spend the holiday with our families, but we were able to see some family at the game*. And we did have a fantastic time at the game together. I guess in a way, we are building our own little family memories... and that makes me happy.

KG and I spend alot of time reminding each other of all of the things we have to be thankful for. Because we are more than blessed. Of course there are times it is hard to be thankful for situations you encounter**... but we try.

And that is what the Thankful posts are for. To remind me of the little, silly things I have everyday to be thankful for. Some days are tough and sometimes things don't go the way I think they should***, but I can always find one thing... however minor it may seem to someone else... to be thankful for.

And this concludes the "thankful" posts for this Thanksgiving... now on to Christmas!!!

*Which was super, super fun and I am going to post pictures SOON! I LOVE when we have visitors to our little corner of the world. YAY!

**How vague was that? :) Hang with me... sometimes I don't share well.

***Obviously, I know best on how things should go.****

****Please note the sarcasm in that statement... I remind myself DAILY that I am not the one in control... and pretty thankful for that also!

29 things I'd like to do before I'm 30...

1. Get some new floors in the house... maybe a few other house "fix-ups."

2. Start my college football tour... at least get one stop under my belt (Florida, UCS, Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama... all possibilities).

3. Go to a concert.

4. Actually FINISH a quilt... which may require learning to machine quilt because I may give up on the hand quilting. (Or just have someone else finish it... still counts.)

5. Perfect my homemade pasta making skills.

6. Finish my 1st Italy trip scrapbook (seriously).

7. Get a tattoo (don't be shocked... I've wanted one for a LOONNG time).

8. Have a baby. Or at least make one...

9. Actually decorate for Christmas... aiming for 2010 here.

10. Finish reading Henry VIII's autobiography.

11. Teach Molly to high-five.

12. Clean out the garage... maybe park in it.

13. Take/make home videos. Of nothing. Or everything.

14. Seriously consider a new career.

15. Backyard grooming = less weeds.

16. Make a tomatillo sauce.

17. Actually print out all the photos I take and put them in *GASP* a photo album.

18. Learn to make sushi.

19. Trash the STACKS of magazines I have... minus any cooking or scrapbooking related.

20. Go to Germany with my parents and see all my childhood memories again.

21. A&M T-shirt quilt? Pretty ambitious, but who knows?

22. Replace the big white garage cabinet that sits in my kitchen now.

23. Go back to Italy. Can anyone say 5 year anniversary trip??? :)

24. Two & a half words: Pre-wedding Weight.

25. More shoes. :)

26.

27.

28.

29.

It's just that time of year...

...
when I am
swamped.
And this year, somehow, is out of control. I haven't been home before 7 or 8 at night all week. But after tomorrow, there is some time off. And that is my
light at the end of the tunnel.

I am a little jealous of all of the people who are so excited it is almost
football
season on facebook.
I wish I was still excited.
And maybe I am.
But I'm just tired.
Tomorrow will be fun.
I've just had too much to get done to get excited about seeing my Aggies play...

I have a few things to blog about, maybe on Monday... which is Labor Day and I have been instructed to NOT be at the office. I am thankful for that!

I am rambling... because I am so tired.

Good Night!!!

The Great Evacuation of 2009

Yesterday a chemical plant in town caught on fire. Because of the chemicals, they ended up evacuating most of the city. They even opened up Reed Arena for people to take shelter in. KG thought they were making a bigger deal out of it, and even though we were most definitely in the evacuation zone, we didn't see or smell smoke, so we stayed home. Turns out, by 8 p.m. most people went back home anyway because they decreased the evacuation zone.

In the meantime, everything in town was closed. When we ventured out to get some dinner, we had to go to CS. I wish I would have taken some pics while we were out. The HEB parking lot was completely empty. The CVS (with the big "Open 24 Hours" sign over the door) was also closed. It was a little like a ghost town around some businesses. And then there was KG's buddies at China Wok Express... still there, still serving their delicious fried rice.

livejournal

I kept a livejournal in college.

It was mainly a way to keep up with friends, but thanks to Skits, I just remembered it and started looking over it. I started it in September of 2000 and my last entry was in June of 2006.

It's comical really.

And sometimes extremely vague... so much so, that I don't even know what I was talking about! But I am so glad I had it because there were so many things that I would have never remembered without it!

And so I may start updating here more often/randomly. Because in 10 years, it will be really fun to go back and read what my life was like... especially the totally normal, everyday stuff.

BFFs

KG explained to me tonight that when I say that Molly and I are "BFFs Forever", I'm really saying Molly and I are "Best Friends Forever Forever".

And I told him that I say it that way because I really mean it.

And maybe... just maybe... I didn't realize it. But he doesn't need to know that. :)

Funny...

Tonight Molly was in the living room with KG. All of a sudden I hear KG say,
"Oh goodness! What is happening?"
I jump up and head to the hallway and I can hear this weird sound that I can't quite figure out. And then here comes Molly, except she had KG's Easter bag in her mouth and she's dragging it along. I reach down to take it away and she darts past me and around the room. I then realize, she's not pulling it with her... the handle is around her neck and she can't get away from it. She spilled all the candy out before we managed to catch her and get the bag off of her neck. I wish I had a picture or video of it... KG and I were cracking up!!!!!

And a few random Molly pictures... because I can't help myself.
