CALI... day 1

I can't even begin to explain how excited we have been for this trip! Not only because we are actually going for a very special wedding, but because a trip to California is one of KG's lifetime dreams. The story as I've heard it is... when he was little, his parents would always ask where they wanted to go on vacation, and KG always requested CA. But they never went.

So, this trip was a first for both of us! I've never been either, and it is almost more fun getting to experience it all together for the first time. And no babies. :)

Early morning in Austin... delayed, of course. The worst part was that we had rescheduled our flight so that we would make it in for the welcome toast that evening... which we did end up making. Just late.

We landed in San Fran, got our rental car (props to KG... our rental counter was the ONLY one without the longest line... and actually had NO line), and got on our way. I'd just like to point out that when we walked outside for the first time to get on the tram, we both about died! It was so cold! haha. It was cold, but when you are in CA, you still have to go top down. So we did. Thank goodness for heaters.

Our little drive through San Fran...

We actually did stop at the bay to check everything out. And at this point, we thought we had plenty of time!

Check out our sweet ride...

The first time either of us had seen the Golden Gate Bridge in real life!

I have a million sailboat pictures. I was amazed at how many were out. It was incredibly windy though. But Kyle immediately thought of Shane, so we took a ton of pictures... Crystal, please show Shane the sailboat pictures. :)

On our way again...

Closer...

Closer...

Thru...

Adios.

Coolest man I know...

Thankfully, by the time we got up to Healdsburg, it was considerably warmer. Like home. But not humid.

We had a LONG drive. What should have been about 2 hours, took a lot longer. We were barely moving the whole way. That was pretty much a bummer, but still... we were on vacay, top down, in sunshine, in CALI!

We finally made it in to Healdsburg around 5, got checked in and showered and changed and headed to the welcome toast at Trentadue Winery. Apparently, we weren't the only late ones, so they ended up extending the party an hour, so we had plenty of time there for some drinks and delicious snacks.

All the girls at the toast...

And me & my sweet...

After the toast, we headed back into Healdsburg, and had a little more to eat at this brewery...

I thought this sign was hilarious.

After the brewery, we met up with everyone at a little bar on the town square.

It was definitely a long day of traveling, but so great to finally make it to CALI!!!!
