Bachelorette Party via Galveston

My dear friend JJ is getting married in a few weeks, and she had a big bachelorette party in Galveston this weekend. It's always a bit sketchy leaving one parent for the weekend, but sometimes it has to be done. And KG held down the fort with no problems... minus Kyler climbing into Kate's bed, but that's another post.

So, I headed down to Galveston Friday afternoon and met everyone at dinner. I actually got there first, and had a lovely glass of wine.

Followed with some pretty great pasta...

We stayed out after dinner and danced the night away... or the calories. Whatever.

The next day we headed out for some beach time, and it started out nice...

But it didn't exactly stay nice for long...

So we kind of hijacked an empty tent next to us...

Look at those sad beach chairs...

We lost some girls, and when the rain died down, I made a run back to the house for snacks and drinks. A little after that, the wind picked up again and JJ & co did the best they could at holding it up...

Finally everyone came to their senses, gave up the beach and headed back in for lunch...

And crazy girl time...

Check out my mug... this is what I drank mimosas & wine in...

The afternoon cleared up a bit and we went out for a long beach walk.

And our lovely hostesses (the bridesmaids) made a fab fajita dinner... which was followed by more dancing... at the house...

JJ...

As soon as I woke up on Sunday, I headed back home to relieve Kyle from single parent status. But I drove along the beach as far as I could. It was so nice and peaceful leaving during early quiet time in town. Perfect.

And in a few weeks we are off to Cali for the wedding!!!!
