My loves,
Double digit months now... seems unbelievable. And the changes since last month are unbelievable also!
You are both so happy and loveable. Your sweet little personalities are coming out more and more everyday. And I love that you are both soooo different.
Your dad and I spent a couple of days away from you this month... first, you stayed a long weekend with YaYa and Pappy in Gville. And we just got home from a 4 night trip to Vegas and Grandmother came to stay with you during that time. Both trips were needed by mom and dad, but we missed you both. And you both did so good each time! It was hard coming home because it took you both a little time to warm back up to us... at least, it seemed that way to me. I'm used to being the one you always want to be held by, so that was quite a shock to me. But it didn't take long. And each time we came home, you both looked so grown up!!!
You are both pretty good at giving kisses... each in your own way. KM, you will lean in and open your mouth and put it right on my nose or mouth... always a slobbery kiss, but so sweet. EK, you look right at me and lean in and put your forehead to my forehead and nose to nose and just coo. I always try to get you both to give me kisses... but its only reciprocated when you want to.
KM started this, but now you both think it is the best game... the doorstops! They are really loud when you hit the springy ones. And it is apparently the coolest game ever! At your Aunt Crystal & Uncle Shane's, it wasn't as fun because theirs were solid and didn't make the noise... but you both sure did try. And you love to play with them at YaYa's house... hers actually unscrew after you hit it a few times and I have to pry it away from you both! Ours at home are pretty good... the one in the hallway by the kitchen and the one in your bedroom are the ones you play with the most. They have a little black stopper piece on the ends, and we have had to take those off for now.
I love to hear you babble... "mamamamama" and you both do it pretty regularly. And as much as I love it, it melts my heart to hear "dadadada" when your daddy walks in. Funny thing... we first noticed EK with the mamamama and KM with the dadadada. Now you both can babble both and direct them at us correctly. It is precious.
Milestones for your age that you can both do:
Passes objects from hand to hand
Stands while holding onto something
Crawls
Searches for hidden objects, especially my phone and shoes!
Pulls self to standing... like champs!
Jabbers or combines syllables
Cruises while holding onto furniture
Drinks from a sippy cup... water, but really a fan of the formula in a cup.
Eats with fingers... puffs, bananas
Bangs objects together
Plays peek-a-boo... KM does this ALOT. You love this game!
Says "mama" or "dada" to the correct parent
Waves goodbye... We are working on this one.
Stands alone for a couple of seconds... KM you are on your way. Some days for a split second!
And this picture ended the photo session...
KM,
You are pure joy. I wish I could write down the sound of your laugh. You have started making the funniest sounds lately... your daddy says you talk like an e-walk. You like to squish your nose up and breath real hard. Totally cracks me up.
You are still pretty demanding about being held alot. And to get your way, you pull up on my legs and wrap your arms around them... and I can't move until I pick you up. As long as I hold you for a little bit, you finally get tired of missing out on all the playing that EK is doing, and you want back down.
What a climber you are! This month we have walked in the living room and you have crawled into the baby bouncer (it blocks the DVR from your sneaky little hands) and over a box into a windowsill behind the TV! And you are so funny when you do it... so proud and knowing a little bit that you shouldn't be.
You pretty much still eat like a champ. If someone new is helping us out, I always let them feed you. Besides the random spoon slap, you do pretty good. And will eat your bottle calmly... you jabber alot during it, but still are pretty calm.
EK
When I just picture you smiling in my head, I can't help but smile. When you do something you are proud of or think is funny, you always look up at us and flash that big grin! And laugh. It's adorable.
You giggle when I tickle you under your chin and I want to do it all the time! You are also ticklish on your thighs. I can make you laugh SO HARD. It's perfect.
You have definitely started to get a little attitude... when you don't like something, you swing those arms and holler. It is not fun to be on the receiving end of that! But not two seconds later and you are crawling up on my lap and laying your head on my shoulder. You give loves so sweetly.
Your daddy calls you the "spoon ninja". There are two plastic spoons that stay out in the kitchen for you and your sister to play with... lately, you have decided you want to get both spoons and play with them at the same time. Play means swinging them around and banging them on the floor. I have also started giving you your spoon to play with after you finish your meals. You think this is the greatest thing... and get ANGRY and cry HARD if I try to take it away.
Your favorite thing to say right now... is "AH HA!" Your daddy says it sounds like you have made a scientific discovery. And it is really quite funny. You say it with multiple voice inflections... and always seem to emphasize a different syllable!
I think I could go on and on about the fun things you both do. I'm amazed everyday and I can't wait for the weather to cool off so we can play outside. In two short months you will be ONE YEAR OLD. I honestly wasn't sure I'd make it this far, but you are both MORE than worth it.
The world is yours.
I love you.
