Family Ski Trip... and back.

Well, it is a good thing we had fun in CO because the trip home was awful. There were lots of tears, and not just from the babies!!!

We left on Thursday evening, after a delicious spaghetti and meatball dinner by Kristen. The weather was pretty terrible for the first couple of hours... at least through Vail. Shane did an awesome job driving. At one point Crystal told me not to look out front... a little later I did... and I just hadn't realized how bad it was. I'm pretty sure they got several inches of snow in Snowmass that night.

But we made it out. And the girls went to sleep and slept until 6am. Awesome. Things quickly fell apart after that. Once we hit Oklahoma City, they were DONE. And let us hear about it until we got back to Dallas. I can't blame them... I was sooo ready to be out, too.

Not only did we have screaming babies, but we had a bit of a tire issue on the trailer which caused an extra long stop. Ugh.

But we made it back to Shane & Crystal's and put the girls to bed. Then KG went with Shane to watch some basketball, while Crystal and I had some wine, dinner delivered, and watched a movie that made me SOB. But what a great SIL... I needed a relaxing evening after that trip!!!!!!!!!

This picture really doesn't do justice to the ice caked on the front of the car after driving thru the storm.
Tire mishap... we lost some tread, and the boys had to put on the spare... which honestly, didn't look much better.

This cute baby {KM} really was enjoying the stop for tire repair. She wanted out of that carseat and she got fed. And so did the adults... Subway.

EK hanging out with her Uncle Shane while the rest of us finished our sandwiches.

HOME! We made it back!!!! FINALLY!!! And the girls laid out in the warm sunshine while we unloaded the trailer.

Since we stayed another night in Dallas, KM got a little extra Uncle Shane time.

We got up early the next morning (when the girls woke up) and headed back to OUR home. But the girls were laying on the bed and KM turned to EK and they were talking and grabbing each other's hands. So sweet!!!

Back home... this is our trip mileage!!!!

Now when I tell people that we drove to CO with 5 month old babies, they look at me like I'm crazy. And I have to admit, I think maybe I am. Not sure I'm gonna be talked into driving next year. I figure we should take advantage of not having to buy FOUR plane tickets yet while we can...
