For our 4th of July weekend, we had a trip to Gruene/New Braunfels planned to float the river. I have never done this, but heard only great stories and was so excited! We stayed in a house right near "downtown" Gruene and it was right on the Guadalupe River. We went down on Thursday night and met my co-workers, Cristen & her husband Ross, and Diana & her husband Matt. We all went to dinner at the Gristmill on Thursday night, and it was hot outside, but I am glad to say I have eaten there now! Friday we floated the Comal River, and Saturday we floated the Guadalupe River. The Comal was definitely more crowded, but we were still able to have fun. The Guadalupe is not regulated like the Comal, and the water level was lower (especially since there has been NO rain), but we rented tubes with bottoms and off we went. And the view on the Guadalupe that we floated was beautiful. I was so happy I live in Texas!
The view from the deck of the house we stayed in... so relaxing.
Me & KG on the Guadalupe
In the evening, I was out on the deck and right across the river from the house, these deer and 2 little fawns came down to drink out of the river! The little ones were super cute.
On Sunday, I made KG drive back into Gruene on our way home so I could take some pictures of Gruene Hall. It's the coolest place.

What a fun trip! We stayed in condos on the river and talked about going to Gruene one night and never made it. I wish we had had some good tunes to intertube dance too! *lol*
