Taos

KG & I took my mom & dad, sister & brother-in-law to Taos for a long weekend to have some family time before my dad has to leave in August for a YEAR. We had a great time together... relaxed, saw some sights and ate.

Of course, we started our trip with dinner at Taco Bueno in Abilene... it is our very favorite!

Guadalajara Grill... its yummy! And my sis ordered a cheeseburger...

On our way to
Ojo Caliente. KG got to see where my nervousness about mountains came from... my mom and sis were hollering everytime KG drove too close to the edge, and Dustin (bro-in-law) was real scared the rocks on the other side were going to fall down and crush us.

At the Mud Pool... which was so fun, and relaxing, too.

Feeling totally refreshed...

On the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge... only the boys walked out on it. My mom is way scared of heights, and my sis didn't go out either. I walked a little ways out, but not as far as the boys!

We went down to the Plaza in Taos and walked through all the shops. Then we had lunch at
Caffe Renato. It was a really good lunch place, and we got to sit outside in the courtyard and not die of heat (like in TX).

Even Molly came to town (and got so much attention) and to lunch.

Her uncle gave her a taste of beer...

And then she crashed out on KG's foot.

Taos has beautiful sunsets...

My parents, KG and I went on a hike behind the house... it was a rainy, cloudy day. But a good day for a hike... although we did have to head back in because it started raining!

The little mountain dog...

Molly's first encounter with cactus... she pulled off one of the flowers and tried to eat it.

Molly found plenty of goodies during the hike, but this was a favorite... and she carried it around for a while.

OOPS! Mom had a slip and I was there to catch it in pictures (which I know she appreciated)!

Our buddy, Michael Smith who sang at the Cowboy Dinner. It was cold and rainy, so they did the whole show inside the barn instead of outside.

A few family pics after dinner...

Just the four of us...

And the girls...

Molly got PLENTY of attention during the whole trip. She was our entertainment!

I love the picture of Molly with the feather in her mouth. She looks so proud of her prize. The picture of your family in the rain slickers is priceless. You need to blow that one up and frame it. Looks like a fun trip! Taos is always a good time!

Awesome pictures! Did Molly get hurt while she was eating cactus?
