We spent a day at Pompeii. It was quite amazing, and so big. We didn't see all of it, but we saw as much as we could manage! We did have a really fun day together though.
I thought this theater was really neat.
This area was directly behind the theater, but now I can't remember what it was for.
Since there are not places to eat inside Pompeii, we stopped at a grocery store in Sorrento and bought sandwich stuff... salami and prosciutto. And Adam got mayo and the boys were really excited about that! So, this is our little picnic.
It was really hot and after lunch, Adam got his umbrella out to protect himself from the heat. The little lady in white inspired him...

This was one of the neatest things... this picture is of a street in the town. These streets were only for the carriages, and you can see the ruts worn in the street. We had an ongoing debate all day on whether the carriages really caused those ruts... I'm not sure the real answer, but I believe they did.

This was the big coliseum in Pompeii... and there are the two gladiators going at it.

When we got to Pompeii we each rented the audioguides to listen to as we went through the ruins. Adam carried our map and checked off each number as we went through it (we didn't even come close to seeing all the numbers though). Adam's audioguide was so loud that we could have just rented his and all listened to it, but since we each had our own... we were instructed to begin each section on the count of three so we could all listen in sync. If anyone of us messed up, everyone had to start over.
