Tonight was a fun night! Well, except for the fact that KG is gone for the week, so I was going to have to manage this outing on my own. And even that's not entirely true because my awesome cousin got out of class and came to the fire station to help out.
My twin mom club had arranged a fire station tour for our group and the kids. My girls loved it.
The tour started out in the station... we got to see the kitchen and workout room and the bedrooms.
All the twins... (Kate is actually in the back behind everyone.)
I didn't realize it at the time (bad mom), but Kyler was not feeling well at all. Which is pretty apparent in the pictures...
And Kate... they loved those fire fighter hats.
During the inside tour, the firefighters got another call, so they all took off. They were only gone about 15 minutes though, and told us just to hang out. Once they got back, they took us outside to the trucks.
They had one of the firefighters get all of his gear on to show the kids what a firefighter would look like if they ever came in your house to save you. My girls were intrigued.
These next two pictures melt my heart. They let all the kids come up and give high fives and get close to the fire fighter (which was awesome). Kate was unsure. She's standing there looking at him, and this is after the whole group of kids had walked up to him, high fived, talked and walked back away.
But she finally decided it was okay, and went in for the hug! PRECIOUS!!!
Kate & her (future fire fighter) cousin, Tara...
Then the girls got to climb up and walk through a fire truck...

It was a crazy evening. I would have LOVED to have had Kyle there, but Tara was a great help and the girls were pretty worn out afterwards! I am very appreciative to the fire fighters for hosting us!
