Trunk or Treat

This afternoon was Trunk or Treat at church. I never really got it before kiddos, but now that I have them, I love Trunk or Treat. We went last year... this year was leaps and bounds better!

I managed to talk YaYa & Pappy into coming down for the day to go with us (not much arm twisting involved there), and the girls were excited to see them! They got here in time to have lunch with us, and they got to experience Kate going down for her nap with no milk and no book reading because she couldn't take one bite of her lunch (it is an ongoing war we are having these days).

Still, the girls woke up, we managed to get ONE bite down Kate so that she was allowed her snack, and then we got everyone dressed up! This year we were little fairies. We had great costumes from the birthday, and I added leggings & long sleeve shirts since it was cool. I also added some sparkly make up and body glitter to the hair (which is of course all over my house and I've chalked up to a side effect of having girls... and secretly love it).

And off to Trunk or Treat we went. The girls walked around and about after the second stop, they totally understood getting candy and putting it in their bags! Our very first stop was to Mrs. Pam who is the nicest lady and one of my Wednesday ladies bible study friends. And that made it all the more special for me... it was a complete mom moment as I watched them get their first candy and put it in their little bags. *sappy*

Two Things:
Reese's Pieces... Kate loved them, Kyler filled her mouth and then spit them out leaving a trail of orange
spit/drool all down the front of her white shirt.

Bounce house... Kate LOVED it. I only got her out by telling her Daddy & Kyler were on the playground.
She would stand up and jump and fall down on her hiney. Kyler was VERY cautious. I think she liked it okay, but just very cautious.

We managed to stay for an hour and a half... I think that is about triple our time from last year!

After we finished up (and it was cooling off quick), we headed to dinner at BJs with YaYa & Pappy before they headed home. The girls did so great at dinner... maybe our best meal out so far!

YaYa & Pappy said good bye at the car, and YaYa told Kate they had to go home to feed Shorty and the kitty cat... which as we were driving home, Kate repeated to me and KG. Smart little girl.

And then we were home for baths to rinse SOME of the glitter out. :)

And a million pictures follow... enjoy! We sure did!
