K & S and K & E: Spencer Brothers Adventure #4, part 1

It was finally time for Spencer Brothers Adventure! We've done pretty good about making it a yearly thing... we've only missed one year and that was 2010 when the girls and Tate were all born. But I think we are back on schedule...

We headed to Beavers Bend in Oklahoma for a weekend in a cabin by a lake. Lovely.

It was going to take us a while to get there, so we loaded up and headed out. We stopped for lunch at the craziest Sonic I've ever seen... they have a playground, bounce house and covered picnic area all fenced in. Perfect.

We got there at the same time as Adam & Kristen, and all the little kiddos were ready to run. And there were stairs. Yay. But look at the cousin cuteness... (and my sweet nephew Tate sporting his 12th Man Jersey!!!!)

Grandmother & Grandaddy had a huge surprise for the girls... they came through big time! Kristen told me she was bringing the boys scooters, and I had said the girls didn't have any. Grandmother called and to the rescue she came! She sent two brand new scooters (early birthday presents) with Adam & Kristen and all 4 kids rode to their hearts content!! I can't wait to get these girls out in the neighborhood with their scooters!

The cabin had this little bear that held a welcome sign, and Kyler loved that guy...

That afternoon/evening we played around in the "driveway" at the cabin...

Shane & Crystal finally made it to the cabin that evening... in the rain. But they were there!!!

The next morning we headed out on a hike. I thought the girls would love it, but Kyler was in full on struggle mode (later we would find out there were double ear infections to fault), and Kate wasn't her fun self either. It was a rough morning. But still some fun with sticks...

Later that afternoon (when there were naps & some little girls were feeling a bit better), Adam went fishing and caught a big one!

KG & Kate headed down to the lake ASAP.

Uncle Shane grabbed Kyler and hauled her down to see the fish and check things out... cracked me up, but she was cool with it.

Meanwhile Aunt Crystal got some snuggle time with little Cora...

Oh Uncle Shane! These girls had a blast with him! I know the look on Kyler's face says otherwise, but she really was loving it. And looking back at these pictures, you'd think I would have been nervous, but not at all!
