Happenin' Weekend

This was a crazy weekend for us! We went to Gville to stay at YaYa & Pappy's house.

All the fun started on Friday because it was Becca's birthday! So we headed to Waco and met everyone at Jason's Deli for her birthday lunch. The girls ate excessive amounts of pickles and cottage cheese, but we managed to make it through. After lunch, we got to YaYa's house and more fun...

This chair was given to us by one of my friends, and we used it all the time when the girls were little at YaYa's house. Now it is just a source of fights...

Victorious Kyler.

YaYa also had this mop bucket outside... best. toy. ever.

On Saturday, YaYa & I took both of the girls to the park. We played alot. And it was nice and hot.

First stop, Raby Park. Unfortunately (or fortunately), they have removed the giant (well, seemed giant when I was little, but prob not as big as I remember it) metal slide down the side of the hill. Oh well.

Still, lots of fun...

See, I was there! That's my shadow!

And then we stopped by the primary school playground... (the same one I fell at and broke my arm)

I loved it. I actually have several memories of playing on this very playground. And I know the chances of my kiddos actually going to school there are slim, but still I get very nostalgic seeing them play were I played.

Back at YaYa's... why does this kid insist on putting yogurt in her hair???

Everyone there. Outside. Just the way it is at my parents. I love it.

As you can see, we lost shirts before dinner...

A birthday cake for Aunt Becca... with LOTS of candles, which I baked.

These next few pictures of Kyler & Becca just make me tear up. Precious.

And a little more shirtless running around the yard before bedtime.

After baby bedtime, we broke out the Pflummers that mom and dad had. They were not great, but we had to try all the flavors.

Seeing the face this girl made, can you believe when she was little she would pick up these bottles and try to finish off any little bit that was left???

It was a fun evening. Really it is always like that at my parents house. People, food, fun. Always. I love it. We celebrated Becca's birthday, and we were trying to get in one more good weekend with Pappy before he headed off for overseas... until November. It gets harder to say good-bye with every trip. This will be our 14th time.

Mother's Day to follow...
