Easter Egg Hunt Playdate

Through the Wednesday Ladies Bible Study at our church, I've met some moms with little kiddos. We have bunco nights (which I thoroughly enjoy), and we have occasional play dates as well. Today we had a little lunch and Easter egg hunt date.

It has been raining a lot lately, which is great, but not so much for little kids in backyards. Of course, you better believe Kyler immediately found the pool full of rainwater and stepped right in (this is why she only has one shoe and sock on right now). We dumped out the pool, but there was still enough water for her. She was soaking wet and dirty as all get out. But I think she loved it... stayed in that pool over in the corner of the yard most of the morning.

So, it was finally time for the hunt... look at these kiddos ready to barrel out that door. Kate is totally in for whatever all the other kids are up to. Kyler... well, she would have been happy staying in the pool.

This was our very first Easter egg hunt. It seemed to start out okay. We got a few eggs in our basket... Kate was doing pretty good. Kyler dropped like her second or third egg and it came open... well, once they realized there was stuff in the eggs, they were done with the hunting and just wanted to open them. What can you do? I had to bring 2 dozen eggs per kid (48 eggs for the mathematically challenged) and we went home with maybe 12. And I'm pretty sure I just put those in the baskets so they would have something to play with.

After all of that fun, we went home and crashed fast. We were in complete meltdown mode... and I had to strip Kyler down completely because that kid was wet and dirty! Thank goodness for remote car starts and looney toon videos in the car!!!!!!!!
