15 months

My loves,
I don't even know where to start! It's been three months since I've done one of these posts (and since you turned 1), and I can't even believe the huge steps we've all made!

So far, I think this is the most fun age. You are both learning to communicate more and more with us, and I love it. Your little personalities are blooming, and I love seeing how different you both are. You walk like pros, and I think running will happen any day now!

You both, especially Kate, say "dada" anytime he walks in the room. You are both MUCH more stingy with saying "mama." Other words you both say... baby, bottle, ball, bird (all of these words pretty much sound the same, and it is hard to figure out sometimes). Snack is our newest word, although it sounds something like "nack." You are both experts at animal sounds... baa for the sheep, moo for the cow, neigh for the horse, whoo for the owl, aggghhh/grrr for the bear. The other animal you are both great at saying and recognizing is duck. You are both excellent at saying "bye-bye."

Right now our routine goes something like this:
7-730 am... wake-up, get milk cups, sit on the couch and watch Bubble Guppies
8ish... breakfast
10-1130 am... nap
1230ish... lunch
3-430 pm... nap
530 pm... dinner
7 pm... bed time

Kyler,
What a sweet girl. You make THE FUNNIEST faces I have ever seen in all my life. You are such a little nose scruncher. And you laugh a lot. BUT, you always cry and fight us on diaper changes.

You are such a good little eater at meals, and you try almost anything. You are definitely our little meat eater. You eat tons of strawberries, but tend to smash the blueberries your sister loves so much. I can always count on you to eat chicken or meat loaf or hot dogs (you LOVE the organic turkey ones). And you drink water so well. You eat eggs for breakfast a lot and most of the time I cut up canadian bacon in it, and you like to pick that out first before you eat the eggs.

When you wake up from naps or in the morning, you are so snugly. This is also when you want to watch Bubble Guppies. You LOVE that show and ask for it by saying "bubu." I like this way more than when you first learned about Bubble Guppies and you would walk up to the TV, point at it, and start screaming. I'm going to have to watch you on the TV watching... you love it, just like your daddy.

You are generally pretty happy, but when you get mad or frustrated, you scream... loud. This happens when you can't quite work something, you get stuck somewhere, or your sister takes a toy from you.

You can climb up the slide outside on the swing set... both the wrong way, and using the ladder. I'm amazed to see you use the ladder. You are growing so fast and you can do just about anything. You climb on EVERYTHING. We have a little side table/box next to the couch, and you climb up on it and usually climb over the arm of the couch from it, but occasionally you like to stand on the box and "dance." You are also a pro at climbing up on the coffee table (which is behind the couch), then up on the back of the couch, and then over the couch! All of this climbing makes me nervous, but you are so good at it. You've had a few tough falls, but not many and not enough to stop you!

Kate,
My little peanut. You are a feisty one, but so loving also. You give the sweetest kisses... and you give them more often than your sister. It melts my heart.

You make me laugh and cry when it comes to meal times. I'm finding some things that you will eat pretty regularly, but you are a tough crowd. Just recently you started eating some strawberries over blueberries (which was the only fruit you would eat for awhile). And amazingly enough, you love fish. Go figure. That is about the only meat you will eat... sometimes you will eat pork, sometimes. You are definitely a "grain" eater for breakfast... pancakes, waffles, croissants. You have NO interest in eggs.

You are always busy. You like to watch Bubble Guppies, but about 10 minutes in, you are up and going. Sometimes you get down to dance to the songs, sometimes you come in the kitchen to check on me and your breakfast, sometimes you get some toys and start playing. Lately I've noticed when I'm in the kitchen and you are playing, you'll take a break, bring a toy and sit down on the floor in the kitchen for a few minutes and play... its like you need to check on me, and then you get up and go back to your business of playing.

You are a little snacker. I feel like you snack all afternoon. You LOVE graham crackers (we call them cookies). And yogurt melts. And the Gerber puffs. Goodness. The funniest part now is, you know how to get them and where everything is kept. You will come in the living room and pat your chest (for please), and wait until I follow you. Then you either go to the cabinet where snacks are or to the pantry door... signing "please" the whole time. Recently, you've started using the please sign for anytime you need something. It is pretty cute.

I am truly, truly loving being a mother to both of you. Having each of you at the same age, going through the same milestones, but each in your own very different ways is definitely keeping me on my toes! But I love it.

And I love you. Both. In a very different and special way.

The world is yours.

I love you.
