Thursday was time for us to go home. I had honestly been dreading this day for a long time... last year's drive home with babies was pretty brutal, and this year, KG & I were going solo with the girls.
We loaded up and took a few group pics...

We hit the road, and stopped in Idaho Springs for lunch. KG had looked at some places, and he wanted to go to TommyKnockers Brewery. Seriously, the BEST buffalo chicken sandwich I have ever had. The girls ate a little and looked around at everyone. It was a good lunch, and then we were back on the road with the threat of bad weather looming...

So, yeah, bad weather looming... once we got outside of Denver, it looked a bit scary. And it stayed that way all the way into Kansas. We were planning to stop in Salina for the night and it poured on us the whole way. Well, it snowed and then it rained. It was a long day of driving.

In the meantime, Molly was living it up in Texas...
Before we got to Salina for the night, we stopped in Cary, Kansas. We went to Wal-Mart and let the girls run around and play with all the toys in the toy aisle. Totally classy. :)

Kyler... "wait, you mean I can't take this home??" |

Kate... so many to play with and so little time! |
Then we had a good ol' American dinner at McDonald's. So much for the fish sandwich... only fries tonight.

FINALLY made it to Salina, got the girls in jammies, and they were ready to play (and it was about midnight...)! We all managed to get a pretty good nights sleep. The hotel had a lovely continental breakfast, so the girls ate really good before we headed out.
We just thought the weather was bad the day before. The rain was just a downpour all day long. Between Edmund and Oklahoma City, we saw 5 wrecks! It was pretty scary for awhile, but KG did an awesome job driving through the worst of it.
We stopped for lunch at a Long John Silvers (which is always a good idea until you eat it), and the girls were being hilarious! They kept feeding each other and laughing. I got a great video you can check out here.
We made it to Dallas for dinner and met Shane & Crystal. The girls were out of control. But we managed. And then we headed home. But apparently CS was having the storm of the year, so we had to take a crazy route trying to miss more storms. We got home late, and we were beat. But we all still love each other!!!
