Oregon

Catchy title, huh? Implies we went to Oregon, doesn't it?

We didn't. And by we, I mean me and the girls. KG, however, did go to Oregon. We will not talk about how jealous I am.

But he went for work (whateva).

In planning for this Thursday through Monday night trip, I was desperate not to have to stay at home with the girls alone. I wasn't ready for that. Not for that many days if I didn't have to. So KG's mom (Grandmother) rearranged her schedule and came down to spend the long weekend with us. YAY!

The girls were happy to have their Grandmother back at their house... she hadn't been here since before Thanksgiving when she came every week, and the girls hadn't seen her since Christmas!

We threw Grandmother right into our craziness. She got here on Thursday afternoon. I was not feeling well at all and came home early from work... figured I'd take a little nap and then she and I could go pick up the girls from daycare. HA. As soon as I got home, daycare called and EK was running fever. Truth be told, I wasn't surprised. She had run fever off and on throughout the week. So, I panicked and we went to urgent care. And actually, I had the doctor see EK, KM and me. And we left with nothing really. Eye drops for KM and that's it. But no infections. EK continued to run fever throughout the weekend though, and I felt pretty crummy.

We still did have a nice long weekend, took some walks, took some baths, played outside. And here are some pictures to prove it!

We let KM try out the exersaucer, and she did great! And looked adorable...

EK sometimes misses the fun...

Grandmother & KM...

Not sure what this face was all about...

I have a story before I get to this picture... so, KG left EARLY Thursday morning, and I had to get the girls and myself ready and out the door alone. Not impossible, but not easy. Well, let's just say that I ended up having to make a Wal-Mart run after I dropped the girls off at daycare because mother-of-the-year completely forgot to bring more wipes for them. While I was there, I impulsively bought this playmat thing because Kate is always playing with it at daycare. SOOOO glad I did, and here she is trying it out... (of course the one at daycare plays music and has lights all the time and ours you have to pull on the bird for music... no lights).

And yes, I realize there is drool all over her chin. Its a classic look that she and KM sport on a daily basis lately.

The weather happened to be amazing while Grandmother was here, so the girls (Molly included) spent some time on the back porch.

Molly and her stick... EK loves Molly. Stares at her constantly and watches her run around the backyard. So cute. KM hasn't yet realized we have a dog.

KM has turned into a bit of a spitter-upper so we usually leave the bib on for a while after eating. She pulls on it like this always and tries to eat it.

And sometimes Mom remembers to take it off for pictures...

We had a great weekend really. Grandmother even made EK laugh for the first time!! It was the sweetest little sound I've ever heard. Apparently she spit-up a little bit and when Grandmother went to wipe her little neck, she giggled, so Grandmother kept at it. So sweet.

Once the girls went to bed, I would make Grandmother dinner of all the things that were NOT on her diet. And we watched girly movies like Under the Tuscan Sun and 27 Dresses. We even ordered Mexican food one night. Yum.

And then the weekend was over. Grandmother stayed with the girls on Monday afternoon and night (with help from Ms. Kasey and my Aunt Sherry) while I worked the tu basketball game.

And then KG was home.
