We had to spend an extra day in the hospital because EK was a little jaundice (I actually believe it was the start of the dehydration that ended us up back in the hospital a few days later, but a story for another post). At any rate, we were moved from postpartum to pediatrics for the night (our 3rd room in 3 days). EK was under the blue light from about 4pm until the next morning. She was allowed out for 30 minutes every 3 hours. It was pretty heartbreaking for this new mom. I realize that many babies experience jaundice, especially preemies, but man, it was tough to see her under that light, hear her cry and not be able to do anything about it.
My dear friend Tami came up to the hospital around 4pm and stayed until about 11pm that night watching the girls for us. KG and I were exhausted and stressed at that point, so we were soooo grateful for the help. Especially since she had to get our friend Drew to watch her girls for the evening so she could spend the evening with ours.
This is where our girls had spent their stay in the hospital so far... in the same "crib", together.

We were in the Toy Story room in peds...
Little EK holding on to her daddy's hand... so sweet, but just breaks my heart still.
This is our little trooper. She did so good... better than her mom.
KG actually took this pic because it reminded him of smurfs...
Gotta love the blue light radiating in our room all night...
And here is our other baby girl... she was in the room and did so good, although she did request to be held alot. :)
