We had a super great time telling our families about the baby girls!
Since we already had an inkling that we were having two girls, I spent the week making a frame for each girl for each mom with their name on it. I wrapped each frame in a separate box tied with pink & blue ribbons. And after our appointment, I got picture copies of the ultrasound pictures for each frame also.
We had our appointment on Wednesday afternoon and I got my mom to take off of work a little early and come to our house. She thought she was just coming to find out the sexes, but she also found out the names AND we had a special visitor join us...

MY DAD!!!
KG and I spent sometime that week getting him and us set-up so we could skype. We had the computer set-up on the kitchen table, so when Mom came in, there he was! I think that was a surprise for her, too! She thought we were just going to have him on the phone! But luckily, he got to watch and be a part of the fun!
So, the first box my mom opened was the one for Eva Katharine. Her reaction went something like this:
"It's pink... I think that means it's a girl!"
"Oh... that's my name!"
"OH... I have to open the next one!!!"
"Oh... that's my name!"
"OH... I have to open the next one!!!"
It was perfectly hilarious! She couldn't stand to wait for the next one! (She did manage to hold the first one up so my dad could see.)
And I think this picture shows her reaction best when she realized that there were going to be two little girls to add to the family!!
My dad was just sweet... I saw that excited smile and I know that he will just LOVE having these two little girls to love on. He might have wanted to have a boy around, but he looked thrilled to have 2 girls! He was such a good girl daddy to me and my sis... I can't imagine the fun "Opa" he's going to be with these little girls!!!
My parents BOTH were so excited for us to tell Kathy (and mentioned it several times that night)! I think it was my mom who even mentioned how fun it would have been to have all 4 of them together! OH GOODNESS!
After that excitement, we had to let my dad get to work and we had dinner. Then we took mom over to show her the progress on the new house. On the way, we called my little sis and told her she was going to have 2 nieces!
It was just a super fun night! And I think it was better than I could have ever imagined!!
***I'm fighting for the names "Oma & Opa", but my mom is making a fierce competitor and is not giving in. So we'll see what happens...

Humor your Mom in whatever she wants to be called but teach Kate and Kyler to say "Oma" and "Opa"- what the kids says is what wins :)
You are so crafty with the surprise for your parents- I love it!
