Summer Vacation

We had a great week last week! It was our "summer vacation"...

KG had a conference in Austin, so I decided to make it my vacation and go with him. His bro & SIL were going to be there, too, so I figured Crystal and I would just sleep late, shop and lay out at the pool. And I think we accomplished all of those things!

KG and I got to Austin on Tuesday... he went to work and I went straight to the pool. That evening we had dinner with Uncle Mike and Barnes at
Hoffbrau on 6th Street... maybe not the BEST dinner I've ever had (picture a steak with butter covering it like gravy & imagine KG putting SALT on his steak), but I followed it up with some queso from a little taco stand and was happy as can be. We did have a really nice evening overall though.

Wednesday morning Crystal & Shane arrived and Crystal and I headed out to shop... she helped me start a baby registry and we went to many other places until we finally made it back to the hotel and I was EXHAUSTED. We rested for a little bit, but the boys came back and we headed out to dinner for Uncle Mike's b-day! We had a yummy dinner at
Z Tejas, but I didn't last much longer after dinner and we headed back to the hotel shortly after that.

Thursday Crystal and I headed over to the convention center to see our boys in action. She and Shane actually checked out alot of the other booths, but I just hung out on the X-Wave and ate mini cupcakes they were giving out (oh the joys of being pregnant)! The boys slipped away and had a quick lunch with us and then Crystal and I hit up Target before we headed back and spent the afternoon at the pool. The boys actually got finished pretty early and joined us for some pool time... eventually we all got cleaned up and headed to
Maggiano's for dinner (YAY!). I had been looking forward to it the whole trip! We sat outside and had a long, big dinner and our company was fabulous!

I also need to mention that the sneaky boys parked Shane's big truck and left it for us to drive around shopping on Wednesday & Thursday, but when we went out to get into it, they had parked it in a special spot... so Crystal & I looked like the jerks when we went out to get in it. Awesome.

Friday morning we got up and headed to the
Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa to meet up with the rest of KG's family. First we made a little detour through Austin and had a fabulous lunch at Guero's Taco Bar, which has become a fave of mine. Once we made it to the resort, we headed right out to the lazy river. Only taking a little break for my wonderful, albeit slightly intense, massage!

Crystal, Shane, Clark & Caden in the river...

Caden LOVED the lazy river and he was FEARLESS. He's also quite fond of his Granddaddy...

Friday night we all had dinner together at
Stories (again, fabulous) and Crystal & I gave Caden his b-day gifts...

I think he liked them all!

Saturday we spent the whole day at the pool and lazy river. That evening everyone had to go to a dinner, but KG & I and Shane & Crystal stayed in the lazy river until almost 830 that night (which was pretty awesome since all the kids, and pretty much everyone else was out eating dinner, leaving the river to us and a few stragglers). We finally pulled ourselves out of the river and had a yummy dinner at Taco Cabana. :)

KG and I got home early on Sunday and were definitely ready to see our little brat-dog. She stayed with her uncle Drew and I think had a pretty great time...

She made friends with Abby & Sophie...

And didn't even get in trouble when she decapitated the Mark Johnson bobble head doll and drug Billy Gillespie out into the floor...
