A Decade Past

With January 1, we started a new decade. KG and I were talking the other day about how neither of us really remembering people making a big deal about the turning of a decade in the past. We then realized that we didn't remember for two reasons:

1. The last turning of a decade was the turning on a millennium, and that seemed to take precedent.

2. The only other decade we've lived through (well, me... he had barely been around a year at the turn of the 80s), was the turn of the 90's and well, I was 9 and don't remember that at all.

Soooo... I thought it would be fun to recap the decade.

But remember my horrible memory... bear with me.

2000 - 2002
I can't give many details about these years because I don't have pictures on my computer from them! I didn't get a digital camera until 2003, so the pictures from these years are packed up in a box that I can't find right now... maybe I can updated another time, but for now...

I was in college, loving life and having fun with my girlfriends. I worked at a local t-shirt store in the mall, loved A&M and being an Aggie, and decided to major in sports management. I looked forward to girls night, watching The Bachelor and eating pizza rolls. I spent the summers by the pool with pina coladas. I spend each fall going to football games and watching the Corps march-in before each game. I kept a livejournal online and was constantly chatting on AIM (screenname: AggieSML). In 2002, I turned 21.

2003
This was the year KG & I met, and started dating.
It was, what I thought, would be the last year I spent at A&M.

Us at Chilifest in April (not dating)

My first ever ski trip with KG in December (dating)

2004
I spent the Spring in Dallas for an internship, and lived with KG's grandparents. I graduated in May and moved home with my parents until I got my first job. It took me back to Dallas for Conference USA. It was a great job, in my field and I met some fabulous people.

My first trip to the Final Four (hopefully, not my last)

This girl and I graduated in May after spring internships...
and celebrated at Northgate in true Aggie fashion.

KG & I went to TN for his brother's wedding.

2005
March = Engaged
October = Married!!!

Honeymoon in Belize!!!

2006
This is the year I went back to grad school and I worked part-time for my current job starting that May.

KG's little brother got married.

Went on a fab girls trip with my new MIL and 2 sis-in-laws to New York City!!

2007

Finished grad school!!!!

Italy... the most amazing trip with my fab SIL & BIL... they were great travel partners and I have the most amazing memories from that trip!!

Another great trip to NYC, but this time with KG... and it was his first trip!!!

2008
KG & I decided we would be staying put in CS for a while and my job became full-time in April.

Ski trip with friends... the one that both KG & I had strep throat.

In the same month we got:

A brand new little nephew (becoming an uncle & aunt for the first time)...

And we got a new brother-in-law.

This was also the year we lost our sweet pup, Gunner... we still both miss him so much.

2009
I feel like this year we really began to settle in to our lives in CS for now. It brought my 4th football season WORKING, and we seem to have a pretty good routine... for now.

KG turned THIRTY!!!! And we celebrated in Vegas!!

And we finally decided to add to our family again... Miss Molly

Aggies played Arkansas in the 1st Southwest Classic at the brand new Cowboys stadium (it opened this fall) and KG & I were there with tons of friends!

We took a little trip to Mexico in October for a family wedding, that just so happened to fall on our anniversary!

SO MUCH has changed in the past decade... I can't wait to see where the next one takes us!!!!

Ok, so I think KG looks more handsome with the facial hair. Actually, I think he looks like a goober without it.

And yay for the boot at Coyote Ugly!
