Today I am very thankful that my dad is overseas.
And it seems a little selfish.
But my dad works on Ft. Hood. And I am thankful that when I heard the news that a soldier had open fired at Ft. Hood, killing 13 and wounding 31 others, I didn't have to wonder and worry if my dad was okay. Because he was. There was no chance.
But 44 other families weren't so lucky. And I can't imagine what they are dealing with today.
Still I can't help but feel thankful for having my dad out of harms way today.

Shanna,
I did not realize your dad worked there! What a blessing that he was overseas. That is such a crazy incident...it's scary that it's become "normal" in the world we live in.
