Back during July and August, I took a sewing class in Houston. I drove to Houston every Wednesday for 4 weeks for a 3-1/2 hour class. It was totally worth it (plus I got to stop at Buc-ee's everynight on my way home for a fun snack... that place is awesome if you haven't stopped at one, but thats a whole 'nother story).
I had been searching for a quilt for our bed because KG thinks the comforter we have is too hot. But I just couldn't find one that I liked. And I kept thinking it would be so cool to make my own. But before I decided to jump into quilting, I figured learning how to sew would be helpful. So off I went.
During class we had to pick a SIMPLE project to complete. Our teacher suggested a simple skirt or PJ pants. I got a little carried away and decided I wanted to do both. And I'm glad I did because I ended up finishing them both during the class. So here they are...

So, after I had accomplished those, I decided to play around with quilting. After borrowing some supplies and books from my mom and more books from my MIL, I bought some cheap cotton fabric already cut into fat quarters and made up my own quilt "pattern". Just don't look too close because the corners definitely don't line up, but it isn't exactly supposed to... I think I just didn't cut the triangles different ENOUGH, size-wise. So, here's my top...
This weekend we are headed to White Oak, so I'm hoping to get some help with the next step!!!
