My friend Monay was one of the gals that came down for the weekend. She is so like me in so many ways, always there for me and shares my love of wine and cheese. :) If I ever have a question, she knows the answer. And she did most all of the planning for the weekend. She took care of the hotel and had a list of food & drink places ready for me to choose from. It wouldn't be the same without her.
Keisha is another of my friends from my days in Big D. She and Mo flew down together and I picked them up at the airport. Keish is so much fun. She is my loyal bachelorette watching companion. And she gets excited about fun places to eat like I do... and I NEED people to be excited about food. I'd venture to say that most of the queso I've eaten in my life, I've eaten with Keisha. Keish makes me laugh... shes just FUN. And she's always up for anything. It is so easy to be her friend.
JJ joined us in SA on Saturday morning. I'm not even sure where to start with this girl. She's fab. In every way. We met back in college and bonded over a terrible class (KINE 121) which required us to be in swimsuits in front of the whole class (and the Rec Center) for a swim test. I have favorite memories of college (and after) with this girl. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding. She keeps it real, and she keeps me real. I need that.
So, Friday night we headed out to the Riverwalk, had dinner and drinks, and ended up at this little place called Leapin Lizards. It wasn't crowded or too loud, and we sat and chatted all night long. We ended the late night with a trip to McDonalds.
At Leapin Lizards...
Saturday we slept in, JJ arrived and we all went out to lunch. Afterwards we decided it was just too miserably hot to walk around, so we headed back to the hotel and spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool. I don't think I could have asked for a better afternoon!!!
After cleaning up, we headed out for dinner at a yummy Italian place.
JJ & I all cleaned up...
And Keish & Mo...
After dinner we wondered around and ended up having a night of dancing. Super fun!!!
Sunday we packed up and headed out to brunch before heading home. I remember sitting at brunch as we were chatting away and thinking how lucky I was. For me, there isn't much better than having a weekend brunch with your best friends. I cherish those times.
