Spring Break Day

This week is Spring Break around here… no Mother's Day Out, no Wednesday Bible Study… lots of at home time. Since my friend Tami was off for the end of Spring Break, we decided to plan a fun day for all of our girls.

We started the day at Central Park where we played on the playground (both of my girls climbed up the big ladder and went down a big spiral slide like big girls!), fed and chased ducks, and ate as much of Tami's apple and the white bread (white bread we brought to feed ducks) that they could!

I love this pic... it is absolutely what it is like with us all together. Kyler is trying to get more and more of Tami's apple, and Ash & Aleia have Kate and bread. Everyone is always moving. :)

After the park, we headed to downtown Bryan for a trip to the Children's Museum. It was pretty packed, but I think the girls all loved it. Tami's girls did some arts & crafts, and my girls ran around and played with everything they could manage to get from all of the older kids there.

They had a grocery store section by HEB and Kate loved pushing the carts around... as did the million other kids there.

Once we were close to meltdown stage, we left and headed to a little park in downtown Bryan for a little picnic. As the girls finished up with their lunches, we ran around and had races and chased babies so no one ran into the street!

It was a FULL morning, but just so much fun!!! We got home to take naps, and get ready for our cousins to come visit for the night!!!

Grandmothers Visit II

Grandmother had a few days and she came to spend them with us. I think we kept her busy...

She immediately got in some play time with the girls.

They are wiggly, but happy!

And Saturday afternoon, we ventured out for lunch and to buy some plants. We had a little mishap where we ran out of gas on the way, but the girls were great and we made it anyway!

First time at Martha's Bloomers!!!
(They didn't really get what I was trying to do here...)

Sunday we attempted church, but not with much luck. It was a prayer Sunday... which means singing and then everyone breaks up to pray in groups for the rest of the service... doesn't work well with babies.

Sunday evening we went over to our friends' to celebrate this little girl's 8th birthday!! (P.S. The ice cream cake from Cold Stone was life changing.)

Monday I was off to work, but KG & Grandmother went to work in the backyard. The girls got a little outside playing, too.

Tuesday was a day at home for me, and KG had to go on the road, so Grandmother and I loaded up and went to the park to swing!

My 2 sweet crazies...

So, it probably looks like we played alot, and we did (well, I did), but we actually put Grandmother to work. She and KG updated our front flower bed, planted some things in planters and built and planted a great flowerbed in the back yard...

I somehow managed to catch this "bee" on my lemon tree...

YES, LEMON TREE!!!
I'm waaayyyy too excited about it!

And the awesome flower bed in the back...

And a little closer-up...

So, moral of the story is... if you come to our house, expect to work. :) And whenever you are ready Grandmother, we have a few more flower beds to build.........

swings!

Today after the girls doctor appointment, KG and I got some breakfast and ate in the car while the girls napped. Then we decided to take a little tour of some city parks to find bucket swings. We found one that we decided to stop at by our house and the girls were awake. So, they went swinging and LOVED it!!!!

the last bluebonnets...

I had big plans to take pictures of the girls in the bluebonnets. And they were everywhere. I finally got KG to come with me one day to take pictures.

And we couldn't find any bluebonnets! They were everywhere and then nowhere! UGH. So, we drove all around BCS...

And finally we found a little patch.

The bluebonnets look decent in the pictures (but pictures can be deceiving).

Both girls fell asleep on the drive to find the bluebonnets.

And since KM is quite a sleepy girl (she always takes a while to wake up), she looks sleepy in all of these pics.

So, while we finally found some bluebonnets... smiles where not available.

tulips

I LOVE tulips. Possibly my favorite flower. So last fall I saw some tulip bulbs at Lowe's and decided why not try them out. Well, I have been most pleasantly surprised! They all came up and looked so pretty in April! Now they are gone and just look like dead stems, but they were totally worth it while they lasted!!
